Irish Community Care was set up in 1985 by Irish people in Manchester who realised that members of their community weren’t getting the assistance they needed. We originally started sharing an office and a phone at St Lawrence’s Presbytery. We now have two offices, ten members of staff and around 50 volunteers and work throughout Greater Manchester.
We provide a wide range of services to meet our charitable aims:
- To relieve the effects of poverty, sickness, distress and old age;
- To improve quality of life through leisure and recreation; and
- To provide for the burial of people with no next of kin.
