HELP & SUPPORT

CABHAIR & TACAÍOCHT

We help people who need support, advice, or someone to talk to. We help the Irish and Irish Traveller communities, but we are here for everyone who needs us.

We can help with one-off issues or provide ongoing support.

Through our Fréa partnership we also provide a project called Renewing Roots. This service helps survivors and former residents of Ireland's institutions, and their families. We give free and confidential support, advice, and help. We listen to people’s stories and try to help them with what they need. Through the Renewing Roots project we have brought together a number of former residents of Irelands Institutions in peer support.

I had previously claimed attendance allowance by myself and been unsuccessful. I came to ICCM and you completed a claim for me which DWP said they didn’t receive. You had a copy so were able to resend the claim. I ended up with high rate backdated to beginning of claim. There is no way I could have managed this myself so thank you so much ICCM!

Passports

If you are looking to apply for an Irish passport, renew your passport or find out about becoming an Irish citizen through the foreign birth registration scheme we recommend you first look at the Irish Government passport site https://www.ireland.ie/en/dfa/passports/passport-online/

Passport applications are done via an online process. If you are having difficulty with the process or you are unable to complete the online form please get in touch with us.

Benefits and Entitlements

Turn2Us is a separate charity which offers a free online benefit checker tool. You can use their free and confidential Benefits Calculator to find out what benefits you are entitled to claim. Once you have checked if you are entitled to any benefits you can get in touch and we will help you through the process of claiming.
