St. Patricks day is here once more and Irish Community Care Manchester are celebrating Irish culture the only way we know how with parades, music, dancing, (maybe a bit of) drinking and a whole lot of craic!

BOOK CLUB MONDAY 2 MARCH

Manchester Irish Book Club

Celebrating Irish authors & literature, our Manchester Irish Book Club meet every first Monday of the month at cultural Irish hub Bia Café Bar in Levenshulme.
The group will be discussing ‘The Abstainer’ by Ian McGuire, a searing tale of revenge, obsession, and the brutal cost of honour set in nineteenth-century England, where an Irishman must navigate loyalty, family, and vengeance as his nephew joins a bloody Fenian underground movement, intertwining his fate with that of a violent Irish American veteran.

Ná habair é, déan é! Gaeilgoirí, foghlaimeoirí and those who only have a cúpla focal, join us for a special St Patrick’s Pop-up Gaeltacht with casual comhra, zero pressure and good craic on Thursday 12th March in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
You’ll find us on the ground floor of The Peer Hat, M1 1BE from 7pm.

What makes Manchester so Irish? Delve into the past, present & future as we take you on a guided Heritage Trail of local spots with an Irish story to tell, and not just the famous ones!
With a few pit-stops at some of Manchester’s best Irish bars along the way, you’ll also receive your own Manchester Irish Passport booklet to get stamped, with extras inside to explore more across the region after our trail ends.
Join us on Sat 14th March starting at St Patrick’s Church on Livesey St, M4 5HF at 1pm.
Or for a shorter walker, meet us at Band on the Wall, M4 5JZ at 1:30pm.
We’ll then be rounding it out at the Irish Village in St Anne’s Square, before Ireland take on Wales in the Six Nations Rugby.

We’re painting the town green, white & gold, and we want you to join us in this years St Patrick’s Parade in Manchester on Sunday 15th March, starting at the Irish World Heritage Centre from 12pm.
With Irish music, county flag bearers, community organisations, dignitaries and even a strong man world record attempt, the parade has everything!
Irish Community Care Manchester are inviting you to join us, either with your own group, or as part of our entry, as we walk, dance and sing our way through the city centre, celebrating Irish culture and the long-standing history and heritage connecting Manchester & Ireland with the Irish & Irish Traveller communities who continue to contribute so much to the region.

Fundraising for Irish Community Care Manchester, we’re doing a Big Irish Busk joined by some of Manchester’s abundant Irish talent. Find us in the city centre, The Emmeline Pankhurst Statue on Tues 17th March, St Patrick’s Day, at 4:30 pm with reels, jigs & all the good Irish sing-along tunes you know & love and drop a little cash into one of our buckets.
