Irish Community Care Manchester are looking for men aged 16-30 from the Irish community in Greater Manchester, from researchers to budding interviewers and everything in between, to produce and release their own podcast about the Irish connection with Manchester United FC over the summer, to support wellbeing & confidence.​​

​The weekly sessions will be supported by industry professionals including a BBC & RTE radio and podcast producer and Salford University media and audio graduates, The group will gain hands-on experience of podcast production as they work from a real-life podcast studio.
Partnering with Manchester United Foundation and FC United on engagement, the project will support wellbeing & improve confidence of the young men through creative collaborative working and encourage connection with their cultural heritage through interviewing and working within the Manchester Irish communities.

why we're doing it
Irish & Irish Traveller populations of Greater Manchester experience health inequality when compared to the white British majority and often rank last when health outcomes of ethnic minorities are ranked, according to the 2021 census. This is the only project aimed at supporting the wellbeing needs of young Irish men in the Greater Manchester region.

If you're aged 16-30 and a man that is Irish born or of Irish descent in Greater Manchester, you're eligible for this project.
Training & practical sessions will be on Saturday afternoons in Manchester from mid-June to September 2025. Register your interest by filling out this quick form.
